The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team battled Virginia Wesleyan University to a scoreless tie on Saturday night in Virginia Beach, Va. The Eagles move to 1-3-1 on the season.
There were plenty of chances for both squads, as the Marlins outshot the Eagles, 22-12, including a 10-6 margin in shots on frame, but neither team could find the back of the net in 110 minutes of play. The Eagles led in corner kicks, 4-1.
Eagle goalkeeper Allison Nork (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) made a season-high 10 saves in goal for the Eagles to keep the affair scoreless.
The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Washington & Lee University at 7:00 p.m.
