Rauch's Score Lifts UMW Women's Soccer Past Salisbury; Win Streak at Four

Senior midfielder Katie Rauch scored the game's lone goal in the 65th minute to lift the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday on Maryland's Eastern shore. The Eagles improve to 8-2-1 on the season, and run their win streak to four straight.

In a game that saw the Eagles dominate on the scoresheet, the result remained in doubt until 64:56, when Rauch scored her unassisted tally to put the Eagles ahead to stay.

UMW led in shots, 19-7, as well as in corner kicks, 9-4. Eagle goalkeeper Kelcie Macomber had a pair of saves in notching the shutout, while Salisbury's Regan Benton had five stops in defeat.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Penn State-Harrisburg at 3:30 pm in another Capital Athletic Conference match.
