UMW Women's Soccer Falls at Randolph-Macon, 4-0, on Wednesday

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday afternoon in Ashland, Va. The Eagles slip to 2-1-1 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-0.

The Jackets scored a pair of goals in each half. In the first, the score stood scoreless until 22:37, when Casey Kent scored unassisted. The advantage went to 2-0 4:13 later on an RMC score from Jenna Burns, and the Jackets held a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the second, Kent scored 2:54 into the half, and the score stayed at 3-0 until the final minutes, as Gabby Nelson scored at 88:08.

The Yellow Jackets led in shots, 21-9, as well as corner kicks, 3-2. UMW goalkeeper Kelcie Macomber had eight saves, while RMC's Christina Newman had two and Edye Carr added three in splitting minutes.

The Eagles' game Saturday against Goucher College has been postponed due to Hurricane Florence, and UMW will be back in action next Wednesday at North Carolina Wesleyan College at 4:30 p.m.
