UMW Women's Soccer Tops Penn St.-Harrisburg, 4-1, in Regular Season Finale

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team overcame an early deficit to defeat Penn State-Harrisburg, 4-1, on Tuesday afternoon at the Battleground in the regular season finale. With the win, the Eagles reach the 10-win mark for the fifth straight season, improving to 10-5-2 overall and 6-2-1 in Capital Athletic Confreence play.

The visitors opened the scoring, as Tabotha Fake scored on a Kristen Stark assist at 2:39. The Eagles tied the score at 10:09 on a Kara Bruzdzinski score, and went ahead on a Katie Rauch score at 13:29. The Eagles held a 2-1 lead at halftime.

In the second, UMW benefitted from an own goal at 60:22, and added another from Mason Courter on a Katherine Xenos assist at 72:03.

UMW led in shots, 11-6, and the Lions led in corner kicks, 4-1. UMW goalkeeper Sara Armor had one save, while Harrisburg's Kayla Arnold had five stops.

The Eagles will be back in action next in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. The date and location are pending the rest of the league's results on Wednesday.
