UMW Women's Soccer Falls to SUNY Geneseo, 1-0, on Friday Evening in New York

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at SUNY Geneseo on Friday evening in upstate New York. The Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first half that saw UMW hold a 6-3 shot advantage, Geneseo used its only shot of the second half to find the go ahead goal at 47:08. Erin O'Connor netted the goal, on an assist from Audrey Reid. The Eagles outshot the hosts, 6-1, in the second half, but couldn't find the tying goal.

UMW led in shots, 12-4, while Geneseo had two corner kicks to one for UMW. UMW freshman goalkeeper Haley Randall had three saves, while Geneseo's Emily Janiszewski had five stops.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they visit Elmira College at noon.
