Reynolds, Lockley Lead UMW Women's Soccer Past Bridgewater for Homecoming, 3-2

Sophomore Sam Lockley scored with 4:30 remaining in regulation to lead the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Bridgewater College for Homecoming on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 12-1-2 overall on the season.

After a scoreless first half, the teams combined to score five times in the second half. Bridgewater opened the scoring at 47:15 as Brittany harris scored on a Krissy Snyder assist. The Eagles tied the score at one at 57:29 as Erin Reynolds scored unassisted.

Bridgewater regained the lead at 2-1 at 67:17 on a Jacey Kelly score. But UMW scored twice in the final 10 minutes for the win. Reynolds scored her second goal at 80:53 off a saved shot, and Lockley scored on a Jessica Bednarcik assist at 85:30.

Bridgewater held a 15-12 shot advantage, and also in corner kicks, 4-2. Sophomore goalie Charlotte Owens had nine saves for Mary Washington.

The Eagles will close the regular season on Tuesday when they visit Southern Virginia University at 3:30 p.m.
