Freshman Jessica Bednarcik scored her seventh goal of the season in the 79th minute to lift the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team into a 1-1 tie with Frostburg State University in a battle of Capital Athletic Conference unbeatens on Saturday at the Battleground. Both teams move to 5-0-1 on the season.

The score stood at 0-0 after the first half, despite the Bobcats holding a 6-2 shot advantage. The offense opened up in the second half, as FSU held a 10-7 edge in shots. The Bobcats scored the first goal of the game on a long shot from wide of the box by Erin Worthman at 66:43. The Eagles answered with Bednarcik scoring on a rebound at 78:22.

The teams traded chances in extra time, with no better chance than UMW's in the waning minutes, when Lizzie Weast cut in front of the FSU keeper and redirected a ball towrd goal, but the effort bounced off the post, and the game ended deadlocked.

Frostburg led in shots, 18-13, and had six corner kicks to two for the Eagles. Katie Smith had six saves for Frostburg, and Charlotte Owens had eight stops for UMW.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday when they visit Hood College at 4:30 p.m.
