Mary Washington Women's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Third in C2C Preseason Poll

The Mary Washington women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the Coast-to-Coast Conference rankings, per a release from the conference on Wednesday morning.

Mary Washington enters the 2024 season with great expectations, as returning All-America selections Katie Blair and Cailyn Tripp will head a veteran nucleus on offense and defense. Blair netted 44 goals and added 10 assists last season in gaining honorable mention All-America, all-region, and all-conference honors. Tripp was also an honorable mention All-America in her first season as full-time starter, making 201 saves and allowing 10.87 goals per contest.

Also back is all-conference defender Maria Schneider, who hauled in 22 ground balls and added 17 caused turnovers. Junior Molly Daw will add production on offense, as she scored 20 goals and added four assists in 2023. The midfield welcomes back starters Daelyn Gregory, Rachel Oestrike, and Victoria Mueller, and Schneider will be joined by fellow returners Amelia Stephenson and Lucy Schraff on the back line of defense.

The Eagles open the season on Feb. 17 against Lynchburg at 3:30 p.m. in Fredericksburg, Va.
