#15 UMW Women's Lax Tops Frostburg State, 12-9
The fifteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 7-2 halftime advantage en route to a12-9 victory at Frostburg State University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 5-2 overall, and 1-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead, with goals coming from Megan Gersbeck, Allie Kimmelman, and Catherine Kennedy. After the Bobcats reached the scoreboard, Emily Atkinson, Lauren Callison, Corinne Wiederkehr, and Kennedy upped the margin to 7-2, which was where the score stood at intermission.

The two teams traded the first eight goals of the second half, and the score stood at 11-6 with 8:18 remaining. From there, Frostburg scored twice, then Keller Torrey scored on a Kimmelman assist. FSU capped the scoring at 12-9 in the final minute.

Kennedy scored three goals to lead UMW, while Torrey added two goals and one assist and Kimmelman scored once with two assists. Frostburg was led by Mallory Brunett's three goals.

UMW led in shots, 32-23, and each team had 17 ground balls. Junior Kathryn Stiltz had nine saves for the Eagles, who limited FSU to 10-20 on clear attempts.

The Eagles will return to action next Saturday when they visit Washington & Lee University at 2:00 p.m.
