Kennedy Leads Three UMW Women's Lax Players on IWLCA All-Region Teams
Junior attacker Catherine Kennedy (Baltimore, Md., Baltimore Lutheran) led three University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse players on the 2011 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association's all-region teams, announced on Thursday. Kennedy was named a first team selection, while juniors Allie Kimmelman (Burke, Va., Robinson) and Jenny Atmar (Houston, Texas, Bellaire) were named to the second team.

Kennedy, the 2011 CAC Player of the Year, led the Eagles with 79 goals, 36 assists,a nd 115 points, breaking the school season and career scoring records while becoming the third player ever to surpass 100-plus points in a season. Kimmelman scored 31 goals and added 58 assists for 89 points, and Atmar, who led the Eagle defense, had 40 ground balls, 44 draw controls, and 38 caused turnovers on the year.
