#17 UMW Women's Lacrosse Falls at Stevenson, 13-10

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-10 decision at Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. UMW falls to 8-6 on the season, and 5-2 in CAC play.

Mary Washington opened the game by netting the first two goals, but Stevenson stormed back and led, 9-5, at halftime, after scoring six of the final seven goals of the half. In the second, the Mustangs scored first before UMW scored three straight to cut the deficit to 10-8 with 14:13 to play. Stevenson answered, netting three of the final five goals for the three-goal win. 

The Eagles led in shots, 28-27, and in ground balls, 17-15. Stevenson had a 16-9 lead in draw controls. Mary Washington was led by Allie Kimmelman (Burke, Va., Robinson) 's two goals and two assists. Jenna Petrucelli (Cranbury, N.J., Peddie School), Keller Torrey (Roswell, Ga., Centennial), and Lauren Callison (Stevensville, Md., Kent Island) also scored twice apiece for the Eagles.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Christopher Newport University at 4:00 p.m.
