
For the second time this season, Mary Washington women's basketball forward Jordan Carpenter was named the Coast-to-Coast Player of the Week in a 21-point, 12 rebound effort against Lynchburg on Friday night that resulted in an 83-36 victory.
Carpenter, a Chesterfield, Va. native, tallied her 11th double-double for the Eagles (9-4) in 13 games this season -- which ranks second in Division III women's basketball. The senior shot 10-of-17 from the floor (58.8%) and tallied four assists -- tying a season-high -- in the blowout victory.
On the defensive end, Carpenter added five steals -- also tying a season-high -- to add to her league-leading 36 steals this season and a block on a Lynchburg player at the rim.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday afternooon with a matchup against Washington & Lee in Lexington, Va.
