Junior women's basketball standout Jordan Carpenter has been named the Virginia Lottery University of Mary Washington Female Athlete of the Month for December 2022.

Carenter has led the 23rd ranked Eagles to an 11-2 record, including a 4-2 mark in December. For her efforts, Carpenter has averaged 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 59.3% from the field (32-54).

She opened the month with 15 points in a win over Southern Virginia, and has reached double figures in scoring in each of the last four games, including 20 to go with 15 rebounds in a 65-57 win over Shenandoah on New Year's Eve. She also posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over N.C. Wesleyan College.

For the season, Carpenter averages 13.4 points per game and leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game, and is shooting 61.6% from the floor.
