Sophomore women's basketball forward Jordan Carpenter has been named as the Virginia Lottery UMW Female Scholar-Athlete of the Month for December/January. Carpenter led the Eagles to a ranking of as high as 22nd in the nation in January, excelling in both scoring and rebounding.

In 12 games, Carpenter reached double figures in scoring six times and rebounding seven times, averaging 9.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest. She logged double doubles in three games, against Averett, Misericordia, and Christopher Newport. She shot .445 from the field and .673 from the free throw line, and added 13 blocked shots.
