UMW's Dye Named CAC Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week

 Marymount senior guard KATELYN FISCHER (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) and Mary Washington senior center CAROL DYE (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) were selected as the CAC Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Jan. 21, 2013.

Fischer led the Saints to a 3-0 week, improving the team’s record to 14-3 overall, averaging 21.3 points and 56.8% (21-for-37) shooting while topping the 20-point mark in two of the three contests. During the week, she dropped in 9-of-21 three-point attempts (42.9%), 13-of-15 free throws (86.7%) and contributed seven rebounds, 18 assists and 14 steals.

Dye led UMW to a pair of key CAC wins, including the 2012 CAC title-game rematch at York, to lift the Eagles into first place in the CAC standings. She averaged 10.5 points, including a season-high 16 Saturday against York, and snared a season-best 15 rebounds in each outing, including 11 on the defensive glass in both games. Dye also chipped in three assists, four steals and five blocked shots this week.
