The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team saw its three game win streak snapped with a 55-42 loss at Roanoke College on Monday night in Salem, Va. The Eagles fall to 9-4 on the season.

After the Mroons scored the first three points of the second half, UMW used a Partonen layup to cut the deficit to one, which was as close as they would come in the second, as Roanoke scored the next five points to lead, 32-26, and back-to-back three pointers gave Roanoke a 38-30 lead with 14:44 left.

The Eagles cut the deficit to seven at 49-42 on a Carol Dye basket, but the Maroons made six free throws down the stretch for the 13-point win.

UMW was led by Aby Diop's 13 points and eight rebounds, while Partonen added 12 points. Dye had eight points and six rebounds for UMW, who shot 29% for the game (16-55) while Roanoke shot 35% (19-55). Roanoke led in rebounds, 41-37.
