VCU men's basketball coach Shaka Smart and Mary Washington women's coach Deen Applebury will be the guest speakers at The Times-Dispatch All-Metro banquet, which will be held on April 23 at the Hilton Holtel and Spa in Short Pump.

Smart and Applebury will receive awards for being named state coaches of the year by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The high school basketball players named to the All-Metro teams also will be honored. The girls team will be announced this Saturday, with the boys following on Sunday.
