Alec Villiva returns to the UMW track and field program for the 2018-19 season for his fifth season with a wealth of experience. The Eagles have grown in performance in each of Villiva's four years. He comes to UMW after serving as an assistant at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., where he served one year as an assistant. Prior to that, he coached one year at Slippery Rock University, his alma mater, where he ran four years in the steeplechase.
He received his bachelor's degree form Slippery Rock in 2012 in Professional Studies, with an emphasis in Sprt and Wellness. He owns a USATF Coaching Level 1 certification.
