Asia Hart begins her second season as Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field at the University of Mary Washington, having sent one runner to the NCAA CHampionships in her first year.

Hart comes to Fredericksburg from Shenandoah University, where she served as assistant coach for the Hornets since 2019. The Hornets saw three school records broken at the 2022 ODAC Outdoor Championships, with nine all-conference performances and 32 personal bests. The Hornets saw one athlete advance to the NCAA Championships last week, who gained All-America honors.

Prior to her tenure at Shenandoah, Hart was an assistant coach at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. She helped the program to a combined 23 school records in both the indoor and outdoor seasons with 27 student-athletes qualifying for the conference championships.

"Special thanks to Patrick Catullo and the hiring committee for giving me the opportunity to lead the Cross Country/Track and Field programs", said Hart. "From the moment I stepped onto campus, the Mary Washington staff was very welcoming and they confidently displayed their pride for the university."

Hart added, "I was excited and enjoyed engaging with the current student-athletes and I look forward to building a program that we're all proud of. I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter for the Cross Country/Track and Field programs at the University of Mary Washington."

As a student-athlete, she was a four-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C., setting nine school records, winning nine SAC championships and was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II national championships three times. In 2016, she was named as the South Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Year following their outdoor championships.

Hart earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Queens in 2018, and her Master of Arts degree from Drury University in 2020. She also recently earned a Business Digital Marketing Certificate from Shenandoah University in Spring 2022.
