UMW Men's and Women's Indoor Track Places Fourth at C2C Championships

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams completed competition in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Newport News, Va. Both the men and women finished in fourth place.

The women's day was highlighted by sophomore Sophia Redmond, who finished in first place in the 60 meters, with a time of 7.79 seconds. She also finished in second place in the 200 meters, with a time of 26.34. Allison Richards was fourth in the 400 meters, at 1:01.01. The 4x400 meter relayof Richards, Katherine Armstrong, Amanda Heckman, and Redmond finished third, at 4:16.69.

On the men's side, Freshman Justin Ford finished second in the 60 meters at 6.99, and sophomore Jacinto Jones II took fourth, at 7.13. Jones won the 200 meters at 22.55 seconds, and Ethan Young finished first in the 60 hurdles, at 8.73, while junior Reese Creadon took second at 8.78. The 4x400 meter relay of Mohammed Ahmed, Ethan Young, Aidan Kimener, and Jones II finished third at 3.29.
