UMW Indoor Track & Field Competes at Va. Wesleyan Oceanfront Invite

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the Oceanfront Invitational on Saturday in Virginia Beach, with several outstanding marks.

On the women's side, Faith Jones finished in eighth place in the weight throw, with a toss of 8.45 meters, and also took 13th in the shot put. Julia Snow was ninth (12:14.09) and Jessica Oberlies 10th (12:18.90) in the 3000 meters.

For the men, Luke Blair was second in the mile, at 4:36.79, and Jacob Lohr was second in the 3000 meters, at 9:06.54. Justin Ford finished third in the 60 meters (7.01) and sixth in the 200 meters (22.61), while J.D. Jones II placed fourh in the 200 meters, at 22.20.

The men and women will compete next weekend in Lexington, Va. at the VMI Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
