UMW Women Take 3rd, Men 4th at C2C Indoor Track & Field Championships

The University of Mary Washington women's indoor track and field team finished third, and the Eagle men took fourth at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Newport News, Va. Senior Rajai Walton was named as the men's field athlete of the meet.

The women saw freshman Sophia Redmond finish second in the 200 meters, at 26.37 seconds, as well as second in the 400 meters, at 1:00.26. Amanda Heckman took fifth in the 400. Haileigh Byrd won the triple jump at 33 feet, 10.75 inches, and was third in the 60 meter hurdles at 9.60 seconds, and Hannah Unger won the high jump, with a leap of four feet, 11.5 inches. 

On the men's side, Jacinto Jones II finished second in the 200 meters, at 22.5 seconds, with Ian Chapman taking sixth. Luke Blair finished fourth in the mile at 4:30.94, and Nicholas Onorato took fifth at 4:33.28. Ethan Young won the 60 hurdles at 8.57, with teammate Reese Creadon taking second at 8.62. Wlaton took third in the triple jump, at 44 feet, 6.25 inches.
