UMW Track and Field Competes at Johns Hopkins Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Saturday evening in Baltimore, Md., with several top results.

On the men's side, Rajai Walton finished first in the high jump at six feet, 4.75 inches, and also finished second in the triple jump, at 46 feet, 10.75 inches. Kevin Munson finished second in the pole vault, at 14 feet, 5.25 inches, and Patrick Brown finished second among Division III runners in the 5000 meters at 15:34.95. Ethan Young finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles at 15.38, and Darius Reed was sixth in the 400 meters at 50.61 and fifth in the 200 meters at 22.01.

For the women, Abbie Bolinger was fourth in the javelin at 99 feet, 10 inches, while Rachel Remer was fifth at 99 feet, six inches. Haileigh Byrd was eighth in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.59.

The men finished in eighth place in the team standings, while the women finished tied for 15th. Both teams will be in action in two weeks at the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships in Newport News, Va.
