University of Mary Washington head cross country and track & field coach Kunle Lawson has accepted the position of Director of Track & Field/Cross Country at Maryville (TN) College. The programs at Maryville return after a 40-year absence at the College.

"We are grateful for all that Coach Lawson has done in leading our cross country and track and field programs for the past seven years, mentoring such talented young men and women", said UMW Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo. "We will miss him and wish him the best as he takes on his new role at Maryville College".

Assistant Coaches Anthony Wallace and Stephen Harrison will assume interim head coaching duties for the Spring with Alec Villiva returning as an assistant. All were vital in the Eagles' 2019 CAC Outdoor Track and Field men's and women's championships.
