Track and field senior Jean Woodrum has been named as the B101.5 UMW Female Athlete of the Month for March/April.

Woodrum opened the spring season at home in a meet against Christopher Newport, winning the hammer throw with a toss of 40.44 meters and the discus at 37.05 meters. Two weeks later against Shenandoah, she won the shot put at 10.85 meters, the discus at 38.96 meters and the hammer throw at 40.42 meters.

On April 16 against CNU, Woodrum finished first in the hammer throw with a distance of 137 feet, nine inches, the hammer throw at 41.13 meters and the discus at 38.63 meters. 

In all, she won nine events in five competitions in March and April.
