Erin Andrewlevich Named 2019-20 UMW Winter Female Athlete of the Year

Senior women's track and field standout Erin Andrewlevich has been named as the 2019-20 Winter Female Athlete of the Year at the University of Mary Washington.

A 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track All-American in both the 200 and 400 meters, Andrewlevich had a successful follow-up this winter during indoor season.  At the CAC Indoor Championships in March, she won the 60 meter dash (8.07 seconds), 200 meter dash (26.46) and 400 meter dash (1:00.50) in sweeping the sprint races.

She was ranked in the top-10 in the South/Southeast region in all three events.  For her prodigious efforts, she was named Track Athlete of the Meet at this year's CAC Championships. She was also recently named the first-ever Virginia State College Division Track Athlete of the Year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association.

"Erin has been a shining light of student-athlete success at UMW", said her head coach, Kunle Lawson.  "She is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Student-Athlete honor society, dances with the Performing Arts Center and is a shining example to her teammates of what being a Division III student-athlete can look like!"

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, UMW Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards will be divided into each of the three sports seasons (fall, winter, and spring). The Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards will be released as usual following the posting of final grades in May.
