UMW Track and Field Competes at the VMI Winter Relays

The University of Mary Washington track and field teams competed at the VMI Winter Relays at Virginia Military Institute on Friday and Saturday in Lexington, VA.

On the men's side, Tristan Johnson came in 11th in the shot put at 13.25m. Luke Robertson placed sixth weight throw with a mark of 14.56m. Laurence Sneed placed second in the 1000m at 2:32.16 and eighth in the 400m with a time of 49.99. Kevin Munson came in fourth place in the pole vault with a final height of 4.20m. Darius Redd placed 14th in the 200m at 22.86. Jeff Gibson placed sixth in both the 3000m and 5000m.

On the women's side, Olivia Story came in fifth in the 500m at 1:28.46. Jean Woodrum placed 11th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.66m. Erin Andrewlevich placed 13th in the 400m at 1:01.28. Ashley Applegate came in ninth in the 300m at 11:01.95. Quintasia Horsley came in 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.94m. Kenzie Lloyd came in 10th in the 5000m with a time of 20:07.04. Josie Allamby placed third in the high jump at 1.55m.

UMW will be back in action on 2/21 and 2/22 for the CAC Championships held in Newport News, Va.
