Erin Andrewlevich Named CAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week

CAC -- The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its first weekly awards of the indoor track and field season as the new year is underway. Mary Washington senior Erin Andrewlevich claimed CAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Salisbury senior Kylie Dumas captured CAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week accolades.


TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Erin Andrewlevich - Mary Washington

Senior Erin Andrewlevich turned in Mary Washington's top performance at the JDL Fast Track Collegiate Opener on Saturday. The senior finished in eighth place among 49 competitors in the 200 meters at the primarily-Division I meet, with a time of 26.16. Her time ranks eighth best in the country and is tops in the conference.


FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Kylie Dumas - Salisbury

Salisbury senior Kylie Dumas finished first in the women's pole vault at the Cappy Anderson Invitational on Saturday, clearing the bar at 11-03. Her mark ranks 10th best in the country.

LEAGUE NOTES

Kicking off her senior campaign, Christopher Newport senior Monica Lannen collected a victory in the 800 during the Holiday Open on Sunday. In the event, the reigning All-Conference performer posted a time of 2:25.58. That topped the next closest competitor by over four seconds and the second-best Division III runner by nearly five ticks...Peyton Blanding kicked off her sophomore campaign by winning the pole vault at the Holiday Open on Sunday. In the event, she eclipsed 3.22 meters, which was over two feet higher than the next closest competitor. That height also established a new PR for Blanding and ranks sixth on the program's all-time performance list....York freshman Julia Pena had an outstanding collegiate debut on Saturday in the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Pena finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles as she posted a time of 9.94. She also finished second in the pole vault with a school-record height of 3.35 meters...Junior Sydney Fitzwater got off to a great start to her third year in the Green and White on Saturday at the Coach I Open at Franklin & Marshall. Fitzwater recorded a pair of top five finishes at the meet. She finished fourth in the shot put with a best distance of 11.67 meters. She followed that with a fifth place finish in the weight throw with a best throw of 14.79 meters....Salisbury sophomore Heather Delaplaine finished first overall in the one mile race at the Cappy Anderson Invitational with a top time of 5:30.48. Delaplaine also helped teammates Christine Sturm, Juliana Ancalmo, and Destinee Ekanem finish third overall in the distance medley relay with a time of 13:44.42...
