
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams saw seven student-athletes gain all-region honors in 10 events on the all-region teams, announced on Sunday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay teams.
A total of 1915 honors were handed out to athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions, which included a near-even split between men's (951) and women's programs (964).
No program had more combined All-Region honors than UW-La Crosse. The Eagles brought home 42 honors with the men's program accounting for 23 of them.
George Fox wasn't too far behind UW-La Crosse with 40 All-Region honors of its own. Nor was Loras(37), John Carroll (36) or Williams (34).
No conference earned more combined All-Region honors than the SCIAC with 143. The American Rivers Conference was a close runner-up with 140, while the WIAC and the NESCAC came in third and fourth with 131 and 125, respectively.
