Erin Andrewlevich Named CAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- ​Southern Virginia's Baylee Mulitalo & Mary Washington's Erin Andrewlevich were honored as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Track & Field Athletes of the Week on March 26, 2019.

​Mary Washington junior Erin Andrewlevich gained three first place finishes on Saturday at Goucher College. She finished first in the 100 meters at 12.56 seconds, as well as the 200 meters at 26.35. The women's 4x100 meter relay of Brianna Lightfoot, Andrewlevich, Quintasia Horsley, and Angie Cherikos finished first at 50.66.

Southern Virginia freshman Baylee Mulitalo built off a solid indoor season to throwing for the new CAC discus record in her first outdoor meet of her freshman season. Her throw measured 43.01m beating the previous record by nearly two meters and is currently fourth in Division III. Mulitalo also went on to win the shot put with a toss of 12.76m placing her sixth nationally, and a second-place finish in the hammer throwing 44.26m also cracking Division III top-25 at the 22nd spot.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury freshman Colleen Howard turned a solid effort in the high jump for the maroon and gold at the three day Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Howard finished 14th overall in the high jump clearing the bar at a height of 4' 11." Her height currently ranks in the top-40 in Division III...At the Juniata Invitational, Frostburg State's Keileen Estrada earned a victory in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:09.21, over a second faster than the second-place finisher ... Estrada also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles event with a time of 17.47...Christopher Newport's Hannah Bowden posted a victory in the 100-hurdles during the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational on Saturday at the University of Lynchburg. During the race, the senior finished in 15.70. That clocking stands as the fastest in the CAC this year by nearly a full second and places her 46th in the NCAA...Salisbury's Glory Ebinama ran well for the Sea Gulls at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational as she posted a top-10 finish in the 100-meter dash and placed in the top 50 in the 200-meter dash. The meet bring in runners from all divisions of collegiate athletics as well as running clubs from across North America. Ebinama placed sixth overall in the 100-meter dash improving one spot from her qualifying place, crossing the finish line in a time of 12.93 seconds. Then in the 200-meter she completed the race in a time of 26.99 seconds. Her 100-meter time currently ranks third in the nation...Mary Washington's Jean Woodrum finished first in the discus at 37.35 meters, and second in the hammer throw at 41.62 meters at Goucher on Saturday.
