UMW Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Fred Hardy Invitational

The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field teams competed at the Fed Hardy Invitational in Richmond this weekend.

On the men's side, Jose Mundo took third in the 100 meter dash at 10.94 seconds, while Davon Guerrier won the 100 meter hurdles at 14.72 and was fifth in the 400 hurdles at 55.59 seconds. Calhoun Stirling was fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 9:56.86. Daniel Forjan finished third in the shot put at 14.64 meters, third in the discus at 43.99 meters, and third in the hammer throw at 44.60 meters, with Ripken Smith taking fourth at 44.40 meters.

David Danek won the high jump at 2.02 meters, with teammate Rajai Walton finishing second at 1.98 meters.

For the women, Jillian Weisbeck finished fourth in the 5000 meters at 18:08.94, and Samantha Gorton took second in the hammer throw at 43.96 meters.

Both teams will return to action on Friday as the Eagles host the Battleground Relays.
