UMW Indoor Track and Field Competes at George Mason Patriot Games

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the George Mason University Patriot Games on Friday night and Saturday in Fairfax, Va.

Highlights for the women included sophomore Erin Andrewlevich finishing sixth in the 60 meter dash at 8.06, with teammate Janel Moore finishing seventh at 8.13. Andrewlevich was sixth in the 200 meter dash at 26.87, with Moore finishing eighth. Kristy White was seventh in the 800 meters at 2:28.85, and Ava Robb-McCord was eighth in the 1000 meters, with Hannah Huggins taking ninth.

Jillian Weisbeck had the top finish, taking second in the 3000 meters at 10:43.65. Carly Hughes was sixth and Angelica Gaughran seventh in the 5000 meters. The 4x400 meter relay of Andrewlevich, Olivia Story, White, and Moore finished second at 4:17.41. Quintasia Horsley was fifth in the triple jump at 9.72 meters, and Isabella Andereggwas third in the shot put at 11.42 meters.

For the men, Jose Mundo was seventh in the 60 meters at 7.21, and Laurence Sneed was eighth in the 800 meters at 2:00.00. Junior Davon Guerrier was third overall and the top collegiate finisher in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.46. The highlight came in the high jump, as UMW finished 1-2-3, with sophomore David Danek taking first at 1.99 meters, freshman Rajai Walton finishing second at 1.94 meters, and freshman Ben Onguene taking third at 1.89 meters.

Walton was fifth in the long jump at 6.38 meters, with Jose Mundo taking seventh at 6.29 meters. Mundo was fifth in the triple jump at 13.12 meters, and Daniel Forjan finished fourth in the shot put at 14.81 meters and fifth in the weight throw at 14.54 meters.

The Eagles will be back in action next Sunday at Christopher Newport University.
