The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened the 2015-16 season at the Christopher Newport University Holiday Invitational on Saturday.

Highlights for the Eagles included senior Taylor Cockerille, who finished third in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 8.75 inches, and sixth in the weight throw at 43 feet, 11.75 inches; Elysa Baker finished third in the weight throw at 46 feet, six inches, and Sheree Turner, who finished fourth in the weight throw at 45 feet. 5.75 inches.

For the men, Dylon Garrett finished eighth in the pole vault at 12 feet, 9.5 inches.
