Matt Shaughnessy set a personal best time of 1:55.18 in the 800 meters at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet in Blacksburg, Va., on Saturday.

Shaughnessy and sophomore Mike Atkinson were the lone Eagles in competition. Atkinson ran a 50.01 in the 400 meters.

The meet closes the indoor season for UMW, and outdoor season begins in earnest on March 22 and 23 with the UMW Battleground Relays.
