ANNANDALE -- The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) has announced the 2019 College Division All-State softball team. The 2019 major awards were split between four schools, which includes Randolph-Macon, who earned its first berth to the National Championship Series. 

Kevin Proffitt was named VaSID Coach of the Year after leading the Yellow Jackets to the National Champion Series with a 30-17 record. Proffitt's Yellow Jackets lost the first game of the Super Regional at No. 11 Christopher Newport, but won the final two contests to advance past the Captains.

CNU's Kaitlyn Hasty, meanwhile, was named Rookie of the Year after batting .391 to go along with 19 home runs and knocking in 62 RBIs. The 19 home runs broke a school record and were second in the country. 

Hanna Hull of Virginia Wesleyan garnered Pitcher of the Year accolades for the third time after finishing the season with a 29-4 record and fanning 339 batters. She also tossed four no-hitters and picked up a first team All-America selection.

The Player of the Year award was earned by Mackenzie Chitwood from Lynchburg, who went deep 21 times and knocked in 72 RBIs. She also picked up NFCA NCAA Division III National Player of the Year and first team All-America.

VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership to VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or conference in the state of Virginia.
