Long-time coach Dee Conway has been named as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at UMW, according to Interim Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo.

Conway, who has been a member of the coaching faculty at Mary Washington since 1987, recently completed her 31st season at the helm of the softball program, as the only coach in program history. She also served as head volleyball coach for 26 years, until 2013.

"Dee brings a tremendous amount of experience to UMW Athletics and I am extremely appreciative that she has agreed to serve as our Director of Compliance", said Catullo on Monday. "She will do an outstanding job working with the coaches and student athletes."

Added UMW Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Juliette Landphair, "Coach Conway's steady leadership and knowledge of Athletics will serve the institution well as she steps into the important role of Director of Compliance. I am very grateful for her commitment to Mary Washington!"

Conway will asume her new role immediately.
