Mary Washington sophomore Danielle Newman was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after hitting .684 (13-for-19) with two doubles, a triple, six RBIs and three runs scored. Newman also walked three times and stole a pair of bases and registered an on-base percentage of .727 and slugging percentage of .895.

York sophomore Ginger Lewis was named the CAC Pitcher of the Week after striking out a school-record 15 batters in a complete-game victory against Eastern. In her lone appearance of the week, Lewis allowed one unearned run and just two hits across 6.0 innings to earn her fifth win of the year. The 15 strikeouts broke the Spartans' previous record of 14 and marked the second time this year she has reached double-figure strikeouts in a game.

In the March 14 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top-25 Poll, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 6 ... CNU went 3-1 last week. Senior Leah Andrews posted three doubles and a triple and seven total hits in the four games. Sophomore Aubrey Bates recorded victories in the circle over 23rd-ranked Emory and Roanoke, running her record to 5-0 for the Captains ... Frostburg State senior Sam Gatton hit .500 (7-for-14) with nine RBIs, three stolen bases and six runs in a 4-0 week for the Bobcats. Senior Allison Short went 2-0 with 10 strikeouts and allowed juts one earned run in 10.0 innings of work ... Mary Washington junior Kara Deppe won all three of her starts last week to improve to 8-2 on the season. She allowed seven hits and three runs in an 8-5 win over Bridgewater, and scattered six hits in seven innings in a 3-1 win at Shenandoah. She threw a one hitter in a 1-0 eight inning win on Sunday, with 11 strikeouts ... Penn State Harrisburg senior Kristen Evans record five hits in Sunday's doublehader against Stevenson, including a 3-for-3 performance in game two ... Southern Virginia sophomore Megan Harmon earned an extra-inning win with 12 strikeouts and only one earned run against Maine-Presque Isle. Junior Tara Hilton hits two home runs and notched seven RBIs in a doubleheader split for the Knights, including a walk-off RBI single in game one ... Wesley junior Ashley Royer collected a .636 (14-for-22) batting average with nine runs scored, eight RBIs, five doubles, a triple and a stolen base last week. Royer collected hits in seven of the eight games in Myrtle Beach. Against Franciscan, Royer was a home run away from hitting for the cycle. Freshman pitcher Dori Loukopoulos secured four wins in Myrtle Beach to rank second in the CAC in wins with seven so far on the season. Loukopoulos struck out 16 batters and pitched two complete games on the week ... York freshman Ashley Meekins powered the Spartans to a doubleheader sweep of Eastern, going 4-for-8 at the plate with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored. She finished with 13 total bases and a 1.625 slugging percentage.
