UMW Softball Drops Twinbill to Salisbury

The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped a doubleheader to Salisbury university on Saturday, falling in the opener, 8-0, before losing in game two, 7-2. The Eagles fall to second place in the Capital Athletic Conference standings, and drop to 17-15 overall and 6-2 in league play.

In game one, the Eagles were limite to one hit, a single from senior Morgan Lamon, who walked in her other plate appearance. The Sea Gulls scored twice in the first, once in the second, and five times in the fifth.

In game two, the Eagles had five hits, all of which came in succession in the seventh inning, as Michelle Durnavich and Brianna D'Agata scored on singles from Amanda Adams and Alecia Boykin. Hannah Otterman struck out six in a complete game for UMW.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday when they visit Stevenson University for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
