BASEBALL
Mary Washington senior LF WILL WRIGHT (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Priory) and Stevenson sophomore 1B JUSTIN ANDERSON (Shrewsbury, Pa./Calvert Hall) were named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Players of the Week.
Wright turned in a 9-for-12 hitting performance, including a pair of four-hit games, for the Eagles last week. In three games, Wright contributed two homers, four runs scored, six RBI, two stolen bases and two sacrifice flies against CAC rival Salisbury. Wright leads the team with a .576 average (19-for-33), has an eight-game hitting streak and six multi-hit games.
Anderson went 7-for-13 (.538) with three RBI, three runs scored, a homer and a double in a 3-1 week for the Mustangs, including two CAC victories. He was 4-for-6 with a homer and two RBI in a DH split vs. Wesley and added a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI vs. Gallaudet.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Salisbury sophomore midfielder SAM BRADMAN (Canton, N.Y./Canton) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after contributing 13 points on eight goals and five assists, leading the fourth-ranked Sea Gulls to a pair of victories over nationally-ranked opponents. Bradman found the net four times and added two assists, including a helper on the game-winning goal, in a 12-11 win over defending national champion Cortland State. He followed that with a four-goal, three assist effort in a victory over 15th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan, raising his six-game season total to 33 points.
SPECIAL MENTION: Mary Washington sophomore goalkeeper MATT PRIN (Olney, Md./Sherwood) recorded a career-high 15 saves, including stoning a shooter in a one-on-one situation with two seconds left in the game, to preserve a 10-9 UMW victory over McDaniel. He also had 11 saves while allowing just three goals against the College of Wooster in the Eagles’ second win of the week.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Salisbury freshman midfielder ROXANNE RAAB (Fallston, Md./Fallston) was named the CAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after leading the Seagulls to a pair of wins. Raab scored twice and caused three turnovers and contributed a ground ball and a draw control in Friday’s CAC win at York. Two days later, Raab had five points on four goals and an assist, as well as a caused turnover, a ground ball and a draw control, in the Sea Gulls’ victory over Roanoke.
SOFTBALL
Mary Washington sophomore 3B/P ELIZABETH CROWE (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) was named the CAC Softball Player of the Week after hitting .750 (6-for-8) with a double, three homers, six walks and 10 RBI as the Eagles won four games last week. Crowe also pitched the Eagles to a pair of victories, allowing one run on two walks and 10 strikeouts in 10 innings.
