The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the sixth week of the 2024 spring tennis season.  Mary Washington senior Peter Leese was named C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Leese turned in a perfect 4-0 record, as 29th ranked Mary Washington defeated conference foe Salisbury as well as #19 Washington & Lee on the road this week. On Thursday, Leese teamed with Rishi Charan Shankar at one doubles to down Gianluca Beaujon/Jhayden Pappas, 8-1, and then Leese gained a 6-0, 6-1 win at four singles as the Eagles cruised to an 8-1 team win. On Sunday, Leese led UMW to a 5-4 upset over Washington & Lee, teaming with Charan Skankar for an 8-7 win at one doubles, and gaining a 6-4, 6-4 win at five singles as UMW edged the Generals on the road.

Leese and the Eagles are back in action on Wednesday afternoon against Centre at 3:30 p.m.
