The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and the first two to finish in singles in scoring a 5-0 victory at Christopher Newport University on Saturday afternoon in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round. The Eagles improve to 9-9 on the season, and advance to Sunday's championship.
In doubles, UMW scored wins at one from Rishi Charan Shankar and Andrew Watson, who topped Nesh Kumaresan and Alec Strause, 8-4, from Brock Ladehoff and Peter Leese over Ashton Legum and Alex Seretis at two, 8-6, and from Artis Hart and Andrew Cooper over Vincent Truong and Ahun Vodela at three, 8-6.
In singles play, Hart defeated Jake Dolphin at three, 6-2, 6-1, and Watson downed Alec Strause at two, 6-3, 6-1, when the match was halted at decision.
The Eagles will take on UC Santa Cruz match on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for the league title.
