#33 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 7-2, on Wednesday

The 33rd ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Salisbury University, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Tennis Courts. The Eagles improve to 7-6 on the season.

The Eagles opened with a sweep in doubles. Rishi Charan Shankar and Andrew Watson gained an 8-6 win at one over Jhayden Pappas and Gianluca Beaujon, and Brock Ladehoff and Peter Leese won at two over Mitchell Desman and Christopher Catan, 8-6. Andrew Cooper and Artis Hart defeated Aron Bursztyn and Russell Willenborg at three, 8-3.

In singles, Watson won at two over Pappas, 6-3, 6-2, and Hart defeated Willenborg at three, 6-2, 6-0. Ladehoff beat Bursztyn at four, 6-1, 7-6, and Cooper defeated Catan at five, 7-6, 6-1.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Swarthmore College at 1:00 p.m.
