#19 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 7-2, on Tuesday

The 19th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Salisbury University, 7-2, on Tuesday in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles improve to 13-3 on the season.

For the 12th time this season, and sixth match in a row, the Eagles swept all three doubles matches. Senior Moses Hutchison and junior Andrew Watson scored an 8-3 victory at one doubles over Brad Pappalardo and Gianluca Beaujon, Peter Leese and Cole Tecce topped Mitchell Desman and Christopher Catan at two, 8-4, and Nick Spera and Artis Hart topped Russell Willenborg and Gavin Reagle at three, 8-6.

In singles, Rishi Charan Shankar defeated Brad Pappalardo at one, 6-2, 6-1, and Watson defeated Gianluca Beaujon at two, 6-3, 6-1. Leese defeated Gavin Reagleat five, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, and Andrew Campbell defeated Jhayden Pappas at six, 6-0, 6-4.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Johns Hopkins University at 12:30 p.m.
