The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team saw senior Moses Hutchison (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) advance to the semifinal round of the ITA Regional tennis tournament on Saturday at the Hegmann Tennis Complex. Hutchison defeated Evan Brady of Washington & Lee University, 6-4, 6-1, in the round of 16, before topping Karl Hoegstaedt of Washington College, 6-3, 6-2, in the quarterfinals to advance to Sunday.

In doubles action, the Eagles have two of the four semifinalists. Senior Cole Tecce (Medford, N.J. / Shawnee) and sophomore Peter Leese (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) advanced to semifinal action by defating top-seeded Marcos Diaz and Daniel Blomquist of Southern Virginia, 8-2, in the quarters after beating Jiang/Trevor of Haverford, 8-6, in the round of 16. Hutchison and Andrew Watson defeated Kolls and Driscoll of Christopher Newport, 8-2, and beat fifth seeded Patel and Force of Swarthmore, 8-5.

The regional championships will conclude at UMW on Sunday.
