The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Division One James Madison University on Sunday afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va. The Eagles slip to 1-1 on the season.
After falling in all three doubles matches to drop the doubles point, the Eagles scored their lone point at number two, as sophomore Andrew Watson defeated Alvaro Arce, 1-6, 6-2, 7-5.
The doubles results saw Moses Hutchison and Rishi Charan Shankar fall at one doubles, 6-1, Watson and Priyan Desilva falling at two, 6-2, and Cole Tecce and Peter Leese falling at three, 6-3.
Singles action saw Hutchison fall at one, 6-1, 6-2, Charan Shankar fall at three, 6-3, 6-2, Tecce fall at four, 6-1, 6-0, Artis Hart fall at five, 6-3, 6-1, and Leese fall at six, 6-1, 7-6 (4).
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit George Mason University at 3:30 p.m.
