UMW Men's Tennis Finishes Day One at ITA Regional

The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team saw several players advance through day one of the ITA South/Southeast regional tournament at the Battleground on Friday.

In doubles, Eagles Joseph Brown and Cole Tecce have advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Robert Kresch and Jackson Trevor of Haverford, 8-3, in the first round, and Revanth Boppana and Nicholas Calzolano of Carnegie Mellon, 8-2, in the second round. Freshmen Jacob Quijano and Andrew Watson downed Paul Eisenmagen and Landon Strober of Washington College, 8-4, and Mitchell Perry and Henry West of Virginia Wesleyan, 8-3. 

In singles, the Eagles didn't see any competitiors advance through to the round of 16.

The championships will continue on Saturday.
