University of Mary Washington juniors Derek Hagino and Patrick Hughes captured seventh place at the ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, Ga., on Saturday. The duo defeated Jake Berber and Nikolai Parodi of Claremont Mudd Scripps, 6-4, 6-3, for the win.

With the Eagles serving first, the teams traded points on serve until the Eagles led, 5-4, in the first. Then on the third set point, the Eagles gained the break to claim the set, 6-4. In the second set, the score stood at 3-3 after UMW nearly pulled off several break points. From there, Hagino and Hughes served for point four, broke for a 5-3 lead, and served out for the 6-3, 6-4 victory.
