#25 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 8-1, for 2013 CAC Championship

The 25th-ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team topped Salisbury University, 8-1, for the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference championship on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles win their 15th straight CAC crown, and 19th overall.

The Eagles gained the first point with a win at three doubles, as Evan Charles and david Lunding-Johansson won, 8-0, and another at two as Alex Blakhin and Sam Wichlin won, 8-3. Tyler Carey and Kaleb Nguyen then won, 9-7, at one to send the Eagles to singles ahead, 3-0.

Blakhin retired leading 5-2 in the first, but UMW won the remaining five flights in straight sets. Carey capped the match with a 7-5, 7-5 win at one.
