#24 UMW Men's Tennis Top York, Frostburg in CAC Action to Improve to 8-6

The 24th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team topped Frostburg State University, 9-0, and York College of Pa., 6-3, on Friday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action to improve to 8-6 on the season, including a 3-0 mark in CAC play.

In the win over Frostburg, Tyler Carey and Kaleb Nguyen won at one doubles, 8-1; Alex Blakhin and David Lunding-Johansson at two, 8-1; and Will Apperson and Ryan Byrd won at three, 8-0.

In singles, the Eagles swept all six flights, with Carey, Blakhin, Lunding-Johansson, Apperson, Nguyen, and Byrd winning in singles.

In the win over York, the Eagles gained wins at one doubles from All-Americans Evan Charles and Donato Rizzolo at one and Sam Wichlin and Marcel Rengifo at two. In singles, Wichlin won at one, Charles at two, Rizzolo at three, and Rengifo at four for the 6-3 win.

The Eagles will host nationally-ranked Washington & Lee University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
