The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team opened the 2009-10 season at the Bloomsburg University Invitational this weekend, with Division I Bucknell and Niagara as well as the Division II hosts.
In all, the Eagles won 15 of 21 singles matches and eight of 10 doubles matches. Freshmen Will Apperson, Brian Hope, and Sam Wichlin, as well as senior Eric Sundstrom each went 3-0 in singles, while sophomores Riley Baver and Andrew Frisk, senior Evan Goff, Wichlin and Apperson each went unbeaten in doubles as well.
The Eagles will open the home slate this weekend by hosting the UMW Kickoff Classic on Friday and Saturday.
